Sustainability
Aligning with the developer and fund’s sustainability ambitions, we undertook significant carbon reduction measures from concept design stage and throughout the construction of the project. Residents benefit from air-source heat pumps for their hot water – which facilitated an overall 17.3 per cent CO2 reduction on the project – and mechanical ventilated heat recovery system.
This scheme also benefits from the construction of the Redway contributing to ’Building For Life’, delivering a cycle pathway for not only residents but the wider community which have had continuous benefits after project completion, limiting the need for vehicles creating safer pedestrian friendly areas.

Social Value
Our social value team worked hard throughout the construction period, collaborating with education providers to provide training and work experience. We have also supported Willen Hospice by donating several fridges and freezers and we were delighted to welcome representatives of the local residents association with our client Godwin Developments.
One of our Year In Industry Assistant Quantity Surveyors worked at Bletchley View, as well as a Level 4 Trainee Site Manager, two BTEC Engineering students and two work experience students who gained insights into different construction roles as part of their school’s structured work experience programme.
We also supported 11 educational engagement activities, one of which was a two-day site visit from 20 Year 5 students from Drayton Primary School in Bletchley. The students were provided with an introduction to construction, spot the skills activity and an overview of digital engineering and Building Information Modelling (BIM).
Our subcontract partner B&F Brickwork wanted to get involved, so we provided the students with activity booklets and they designed their own apartment and brickwork. The bricks that the Year 5 students decorated have been installed on the façade of the North Block. Other engagement activities we undertook include speed interviews at five local schools, two school careers fairs and a site visit from MK College students.
