At a glance
- Client: Prologis UK
- End-user: Jaguar Land Rover
- Architect: Ridge & Partners
- Engineer: Rodgers Leask
- Programme: 62 weeks
This new facility will enable Jaguar Land Rover to increase efficiency through technological and automation upgrades and, aligned with its Destination Zero strategy, deliver a reduction in Heavy Goods Vehicle movements in the region by over 1 million miles each year – an equivalent of 1,120 tonnes of Co2.
Once complete, the LOC will provide 91,800m2 – around thirteen football pitches – of warehousing operations space, together with offices and parking and associated road improvements.
The 50-acre site, on which the new LOC is being built, lies adjacent to Jaguar Land Rover’s manufacturing plant in Lode Lane, close to Solihull town centre. Work got underway to construct the new centre in January this year, with a view to its completion in March 2021.
